Victorian miniature two over three chest of drawers. Mahogany with black knobs knobs and ebonised fitting to lower drawer. Probably mid 19th Century.

Charming miniature chest of drawers with attractive colour and wear. Unusual faux finish to bottom drawer differentiates this from other pieces of similar size and age.

Small-scale versions of cabinet furniture were sometimes made by apprentice craftsmen to demonstrate their technical skills or, more commonly, were made by skilled tradesmen and taken around country districts to show potential customers the sort of furniture that could be ordered. Miniature furniture pieces were also often made for children as toys or to go into larger doll houses.
