A Chinese figure of Ts‘ao Kuo-chin in famille rose enamels of pink, yellow, green and turquoise. Ts‘ao Kuo-chin is one of the Taoist Eight Immortals. He is also known as Cao GuoJiu (GuoJiu meaning brother of the Empress) and is often depicted in official robes. In statues, he is shown holding either a golden tablet or a pair of brass chimes used in temple ceremonies and theatrical performances. The nobility and theatrical performers considered Cao Guojiu as their patron.
Inconspicuous chip to the bottom of the chimes.
