Exquisite Italianate landscapes in cerise monochrome within a baroque cartouche against a blue scale pattern background, the neck, handle and spout subtly decorated with gold details. The painting is of very high quality.

The jug has two ground-out chips to the rim. Otherwise no cracks or repairs. The lid may possibly be a marriage, but is period and is an appropriate fit.
