The atlas lists 1,000 of the principal places in the world and includes black and white maps of The World, Europe, England and Wales, Scotland, Ireland, France, Holland and Belgium, Germany, Prussia, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain and Portugal,Turkey, Greece, Russia, Asia, Persia, Arabia, Hindoostan, Further India, Chinese Empire, N and S Africa, N and S America, United States (29), Mexico, West Indies, Oceania, Australia, New Zealand. Large areas of Africa are as yet unexplored; Australia is pretty blank; Russian, British and Danish America are depicted; Canada is much smaller than it is now.
