33 volumes. Full maroon calf with gilt decorations to spines and front covers. Top edges gilt, with red silk ribbon bookmarks to each of the volumes. Illustrations throughout a number of the volumes, including The Jungle Book and The Second Jungle Book, Puck of Pook‘s Hill, Land and Sea Tales, Kim, Rewards and Fairies, and Just So Stories.
One volume has a loose page. One has an accidental pen mark. Otherwise, the books are in near fine condition and internally clean with no foxing.
These Macmillan pocket editions were issued over several years, never as a complete set. Most volumes are reprints from the 1920s/1930s. The Years Between is a first edition. Founded in London in 1843 by Scottish brothers Daniel and Alexander MacMillan, MacMillan publishers was the first to publish Kipling‘s The Jungle Book in 1894.
