A Doulton Lambeth Arts & Crafts pitcher or jug with ‘Silicon’ impress mark (used 1881 – 1912) and production number 9962. Impressed on the bottom is also the registration number 137999, showing the patent was registered in 1889.
The pottery jug is cleverly cast and glazed to look like it is made of riveted copper with a stitched leather sleeve. The silver rim is hallmarked for London 1904 by Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings (Frank) Shepherd, of Bartlett‘s Passage, Holborn Circus, London.
