Early 18th Century Oak & Elm Coffer With Panelled Sides And Planked Top

Oak and elm coffer on post legs with panelled sides and planked top. Pegged tenon joints. Circa 1700.

Although remnants of the original wire hinges remain the top is held in place with later strap hinges. The planked top has some warping and there are later reinforcement batons to the underside. Signs of historic wood worm (treated).
