Chinese Celadon Stem Dish with Famille Rose Peaches, Daoguang, 1820-1850

Celadon glazed stem dish with enamelled peaches in pink, yellow and green famille rose enamels. Bat and peach decoration to exterior.

There is a chip to the underside of the plate and wear to the enamels commensurate with use and age. Kiln grit to the body and to the inside of the foot.

Peaches symbolise immortality or the wish for a long and healthy life. Red bats symbolise good fortune, longevity and happiness.
