Victorian Wernicke Furniture Co (pre Globe Wernicke) Oak "Elastic" Two Section Glazed Bookcase, Circa 1898

Victorian Wernicke Furniture Co patented "elastic" oak two section stackable bookcase. each section has a glazed front which can be raised and slide back into the bookcase. The makers mark is stamped to the base section. Wernicke purchased the Globe company in 1899 to become the Globe Wernicke company. As this item predates the purchase of Globe but was made after the patent in Belgium (1897) - it is dated as circa 1898.
